Michael A. Kelly (Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger, San Francisco, CA) set the standard for metal-on-metal artificial hip litigation with his March 2013 $8,341,000 verdict in the first DePuy ASR /Johnson and Johnson case. A member of the prestigious Inner Circle of Advocates, Mr. Kelly has been annually selected by the Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the Top Ten lawyers in Northern California. In 2012 he was honored by the Consumer Attorneys of California with the Robert E. Cartwright award, given to a member of the Association for contributions to the teaching of Trial Advocacy.

Timothy Tomasik, Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, Chicago, IL, has tried more than 100 jury and bench trials to verdict. He has handled and successfully resolved hundreds of millions of dollars in claims in a variety of practice areas, including some of the most high profile and complex cases. He served on the Plaintiff’s Executive Committee in the World Trade Center litigation resulting from the 9/11 air crashes. He was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates, International Society of Barristers, and listed as a Super Lawyer. Mr. Tomasik is an Instructor of Trial Advocacy at the Trial Advocacy Institute at the University of Virginia Law School.

Robert E. Ammons (The Ammons Law Firm, Houston, TX) is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and also Board Certified in Civil Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Ammons has been included in the Texas Super Lawyers since its inception in 2003. Jeff began his career as a Professional Truck Driver in 1992. In 1994, he began a career with a nationwide food distribution firm that would provide hands-on and managerial experience covering all facets of trucking operations, from delivery driver to eventually becoming the Director of Transportation and Safety.

Craig D. Brown, Meyers & Flowers, Chicago, IL, is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer since 2010. Mr. Brown has obtained numerous settlements and verdicts in excess of a million dollars for his clients including a $7.5 million settlement within 18 months of filing the lawsuit. He serves on the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Board of Managers.

Jeff Burns (Dollar Burns & Becker, Kansas City, MO) had his first truck crash case caused by a fatigued truck driver. In developing the case he learned that 1 in every 5 truck drivers admits to have fallen asleep at the wheel in the last 30 days. As a result of that case, has devoted the majority of his time to working for improved safety in the trucking industry. Jeff has served as National Transportation Counsel for Parents Against Tired Truckers (P.A.T.T.) since it was founded in 1994, and shortly thereafter became a board member for Citizens for Reliable and Safe Highways (CRASH). He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Truck Safety Coalition. He received the Lifesaver Award from P.A.T.T. in 1998, the Unsung Hero Award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 1996, and the Distinguished Service Award from the Truck Safety Coalition in 2005. Mr. Burns has also been named Super Lawyer by Super Lawyer's Magazine and one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers in America since 2005.

George R. Cybulski, MD, is an Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, and practices with the Northwestern Medical Group, Chicago, IL. He specializes in neurological and spinal surgery and is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Cybulski earned is medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine with residency at Rush University Medical Center.

Bobby DiCello (The DiCello Firm, Mentor, OH) worked as Assistant County Prosecutor in the largest prosecutor’s office in the State of Ohio, The Cuyahoga County before joining the firm. As a prosecutor, he quickly earned the rank of In-Charge Supervisor, managing 16 prosecutors and tried more than 40 major jury trials. His practice at the firm focuses on civil rights, police misconduct, wrongful death, class action and mass tort. He handled the appellate work for Donzinger v. Chevron.

Sheila K. Donnelly-Coyne, Paige Donnelly, Saint Paul, MN, has received Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year Award, Super Lawyer, and one of nine outstanding attorneys in the state. Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association, she is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Ms. Donnelly-Coyne is an adjunct law professor at her alma mater the University of St. Thomas School of Law and frequent lecturer for AAJ, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Minnesota Association for Justice.

Nancy Grugle, Phd., Robson Forensic, is an expert in human factors and ergonomics, specializes in human performance, specifically how people interact with technology and their environment. She investigates the way in which human performance is affected by factors including fatigue, distraction, and impairment, and how performance is impacted by the design of technology and the work environment. Nancy worked as a human factors engineer at both the Army Research Laboratory (Human Research and Engineering Directorate) and Lockheed Martin where she researched human performance and designed and evaluated product user interfaces. While pursuing her Ph.D., she worked at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research where she researched the effects of sleep deprivation/fatigue on human performance.

Judge Clare McWilliams, Circuit Court of Cook County, IL, has been on the bench since 2004, presently sits in the Court’s Law Division, Trial Division. Since 2013 she has also been supervision judge of the Cook County Asbestos Docket. Judge McWilliams was named Judge of the Year by ABOTA Illinois in 2018. She earned her undergraduate degrees in criminal justice and political science from Ester Illinois University and her JD from John Marshall Law School.

C. Richard Newsome (Newsome Melton, Orlando, FL) specializes in representing consumers who have been catastrophically injured by defective products. Before his consumer practice, he worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, and then worked for the Cabaniss Firm representing manufacturers including DuPont and Ford Motor Company. He has served on the Board of the FJA since 1998, has served as a F.L.A.G. Trustee, as a member of the Executive Committee, and was the 2010‐2011 FJA President. He has also served as a member of the Board of Governors for the AAJ, and is a Past‐President of the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association.

Larry R. Rogers, Jr., Power Rogers & Smith, Chicago, IL, was recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of the top personal injury lawyers in the city. Mr. Rogers was co-counsel in the record $100 million settlement for a family injured and killed in a van fire. The case exposed the Illinois Secretary of State office of selling CDLs to unqualified truck drivers. Mr. Rogers has earned numerous other multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements in truck, motor vehicle, medical negligence and wrongful death. He was elected as a Cook County Commissioner on the Board of Review.

Tim Semelroth, RSH Legal, Cedar Rapids, IA, Board Certified Trial Attorney, has earned numerous multi-million dollar verdicts. A former President of the Iowa Association for Justice, Mr. Semelroth is a graduate of the Trial Lawyer’s College, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Christine D. Spagnoli (Greene Broillet & Wheeler, Santa Monica, CA) has obtained many multimillion-dollar verdicts, including a landmark $4.9 billion verdict in the 1999 General Motors case of a defective fuel tank responsible for the burn injuries of two adults and four children. She was co-counsel in the largest personal injury verdict in California, a $58 million verdict for a man severely burned by a defective O-ring. Ms. Spagnoli was named Most Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer of 2001, the F. Scott Baldwin Award by the American Association for Justice (AAJ), New Lawyers Division and the first female recipient of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2012.
